I was sittin’ in the shade of a motel in Daytona
When she walked up to me with a coconut aroma
I turned to check it out in my best laid back persona
She sweetly said hello, said she came from Arizona
Down to take spring break before she wraps up her diploma
I said I come from Texas and I’m right pleased to know ya’
Well I was born in Texas, that’s where I was raised
And when my time is up it’s where they’ll dig my grave
But I’m startin’ to think there’s been a twist of fate
‘Cause I’m lovin’ it DOWN IN THE SUNSHINE STATE
Yeah I’m lovin’ it DOWN IN THE SUNSHINE STATE
She wore a string bikini the color of her eyes
It was oceanic blue and she filled it out real nice
She said she loved to be where water meets the sky
And palm trees sway from the breezes blowin’ by
She’d like to settle here if she can find her type of guy
One to take moon light walks barefoot through the tides
CHORUS: repeat
She thought of all the places she might want to be
Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi
Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee
But she’s made up her mind and that’s alright with me
CHORUS: repeat
